Who We Are

Magill’s is owned by the Martin family, Pasco natives for four generations and restaurant veterans for five generations. Magill is a family name. Grandpa Magill lived his entire life in Dayton, WA where his family lived and farmed along the Touchet River for generations. He was a contractor who built much of what is in Dayton today. Magills still reside and farm in Dayton. In fact, the walnuts that we serve at the restaurant come from Magill Farms.

Magill's is Comfort Food...

Located in Pasco, Washington, Magill’s is a locally owned family restaurant specializing in oversized portions of good old American comfort food. Our menu reflects the diverse tastes of today’s Americans with an eclectic mix of family favorites, half pound burgers, spicy south-of-the-border selections, vegetarian dishes, traditional and not so traditional breakfasts, Asian inspired dishes, and much, much more. The food is what we’re about. We incorporate as many fresh ingredients into our menu items as possible and use very few factory made or frozen ingredients. We strive for excellent food and service at a reasonable price.

Magill's Serves Washington Wines...

Our selection is continuously changing to offer you the best choices for each season. We serve Washington wines with a focus on the local, Eastern Washington wineries. An example of some of the wineries we serve are James Leigh Cellars (JLC) of Walla Walla, Jones of Washington (Quincy), Ryan Patrick (Quincy), Desert Wind (Prosser), Gordon Brothers (Pasco), Hyatt (Zillah), Columbia Crest (Paterson), and many, many more.

About Our Historic Building

Magill’s is located in an historic building at the corner of Road 68 and Argent in Pasco, WA. We would like to know more about the history of the building and when it was built, but haven't found much information besides a few customers that remember it being built. If you have more information or photos on the history, please e-mail us! We would love to hang some of the photos up in the restaurant.

The building was originally located on Court Street next to where the post office sits today. At that time it was called the Heidi Haus, a pub that served German food. It changed hands a few times and then was slated for demolition to make room for the expanding Pasco Autoplex. A local lady named Fran had, from stories we’ve heard, sentimental ties to the building and wanted to save it from demolition. She had it moved to its current location on Road 68.

Here is a picture of the building in its old location. It appears that this was fairly soon after it was built because you can see that there is nothing around it. Today, the location is surrounded by homes and other businesses.

Why We Support Colon Cancer Research and Awareness

Magill’s was started by the Martin brothers, Darren and Marty, in March 2008. It was their dream to finally own and operate a restaurant together. They were both diagnosed with colon cancer in 2007. Their surgeon said it was a one in infinity chance that two brothers in their early forties would be diagnosed within weeks of each other and have tumors located in the exact same locations. A few months after opening the restaurant, Marty lost his courageous battle. Darren is now considered cancer free. Through this family tragedy and miracle, the Martin’s have learned a lot about the disease and know that it is over 90% preventable with early detection and diagnosis. If everyone were screened early and regularly, very few people would die of this disease. This is why we give a portion of our proceeds, every Tuesday, to the Colon Cancer Alliance. You will also find colon cancer pins for sale at the register. 100% of the profits from the pins goes to the Alliance. Lastly, we offer a free meal to anyone who gets a colonoscopy screening because we know how important screening is (and how hungry you are after a day of fasting!).

If you would like to know more about the Colon Cancer Alliance and the good work they are doing or would just like to know more about the disease, please check out their website at http://www.ccalliance.org/index.html
